Cordon put in place around 'significant' sinkhole
BBCA sinkhole the "size of a football" has opened up in a road in Gainsborough.
Lincolnshire County Council said it attended Ropery Road as an "emergency response" on Saturday.
Jonathan Evans, from the council's highways department, said the hole was "significant in size" but he was not "overly concerned" about it getting any bigger.
An initial survey of the hole showed it was 80cm deep and between 1m and 1.5m wide.

Mr Evans said the discovery of sinkholes was "relatively rare".
Temporary traffic signals have been set up at the scene.
