Distribution and sales jobs to be axed at Tyrrells
TyrrellsSeven jobs are set to be axed at the Tyrrells factory in Herefordshire as its owner announced it was cutting some operations at the site.
KP Snacks confirmed it would be ending the local van distribution and telesales operations at the crisps company's base near Leominster on 31 August.
The firm said demand for the services had declined over a number of years as customers moved to sourcing products through wholesale and cash-and-carry channels.
"The change affects seven roles and we continue to explore alternative opportunities within KP Snacks for those impacted," a spokesperson said.
"This change relates solely to the telesales and van distribution functions and does not affect manufacturing at the Leominster site."
They said Tyrrells continued to perform strongly and the factory in the town, which employs more than 120 people, remained an important site for the brand.
