Mum praises community support after son's death
FAMILY HANDOUTThe mother of a 14-year-old Worcestershire boy who died in an incident involving farm machinery has spoken about her grief one year after his death, saying it has changed her life "forever".
Harry Moss died in April 2025 at a farm in Malvern and West Mercia Police said a 19-year-old man arrested in connection with his death was still under investigation.
Harry's mum, Hollie said the public support since her loss had come as a great comfort, including two tractor runs in his memory.
"I just hope Harry realises how many people loved him," she said.
She added she intended to carry on fundraising in his memory, towards the Midlands Air Ambulance, as a way of honouring his life.
"From that horrific day when it happened, I can't fault the local community for their support, I really can't - everyone has helped in one way or another," she said.
"It has definitely helped - even now random people message me and tell me stories about how they knew Harry, someone might say 'he was ever so kind, he did this or he did that', I've never known anything like it.
"He loved farming, fishing and rugby. I used to call him 'my homing pigeon' because he was like a little old man.
"I still go to his grave twice a day - I redo his flowers, they always have to be colour-coordinated and season coordinated.
"I'll still continue the fundraising, it's helping keep me going."
FAMILY HANDOUTShe also said she was "frustrated" at her wait for answers after his death, but added she understood that the police needed time to finish their investigation.
"It still doesn't feel real - I still haven't got any closure on it because there's an ongoing investigation," Hollie said.
"We haven't done the coroners' reports yet. I do feel very frustrated at the moment, but I realise they've got one shot to get it right.
"Losing him has changed my life forever. In some ways, because the investigation is still open, I still feel that Harry is with me."
A rugby tournament will take place this Sunday at Malvern RFC, where Harry used to play, as a special tribute - with the winning team getting the Harry Moss Memorial Trophy.
