Murder arrest after woman's 'unexplained death'

A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder following the "unexplained death" of an elderly woman.

Lancashire Police said officers were called to an address in Sevenoaks Drive, Thornton Cleveleys, at around 04:00 BST on Saturday following reports that a woman in her 80s was "unresponsive" in the property.

A 60-year-old local man was arrested on suspicion of murder but he has since been released on bail pending the outcome of ongoing enquiries.

The woman's death is currently being treated as unexplained, a force spokesman said.
