Rescue team called to walker who dislocated kneecap
Glossop Mountain Rescue TeamMountain rescue volunteers in Derbyshire stepped in to help a stricken walker after they dislocated their kneecap.
Glossop Mountain Rescue Team said they were called to assist a walker who fell in the Lower Ashop area in the Peak District on Saturday.
One of team's qualified remote rescue medical technicians "successfully reduced the patella", before the injured walker was placed in a splint and stretchered away from the scene.
The walker was tranferred to a crew from East Midlands Ambulance Service for further treatment.
"This incident is a reminder of why we are here," a rescue team spokesperson said.
"Even seemingly minor slips, trips, and falls in the countryside can result in injuries that require specialist medical assistance and evacuation."
