Arrest after 'serious' stabbing in pub beer garden
BBCA man has been arrested over a stabbing in a pub beer garden in Nottinghamshire.
Police were called to the Manvers Arms in Main Street, Radcliffe-on-Trent, at about 17:30 BST on Sunday after a serious assault.
A man, in his 30s, was taken to the Queen's Medical Centre in Nottingham, where he remains in a "serious condition", the force added.
A 48-year-old man, who police say is known to the victim, has been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm and remains in police custody.
A number of cordons were in place on Sunday, including at the pub, said police.
Det Insp Luke Waller called for witnesses to come forward and said: "Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the victim who remains in hospital in a serious condition.
"This was a vicious assault in front of members of the public, which will have been incredibly distressing for them to witness.
"We hope that we can offer the public some reassurance that a man now remains in police custody on suspicion of this serious offence."
