Ma France - Tips 18 & 19 - Guided Tour and Dating

Bonjour !

Over the last few units you’ve had a good taste of Lyons, Marseilles and the Alps. In the coming stages we head back to Lyons to take a look at how things used to be and get a glimpse of a very modern phenomenon. If you're intrigued then, Allons-y !, let's get going!

  • Tip 18 :

Unit 18 Take a trip down memory lane. To practise using verbs in the Imperfect tense, look out some photos from your childhood and try describing how things used to be: je jouais dans le jardin, I used to play in the garden, or on passait la journée sur la plage et on faisait des châteaux de sable, we used to spend the day on the beach and we made sandcastles.
Remember to practise saying the key dates in your life, e.g. je suis né(e) en mille neuf cents soixante et un, I was born in 1961.

  • Tip 19 :

Unit 19 Introduce your friends. Once you have a range of phrases to describe yourself and your likes and dislikes, consider how you would describe two or three of your friends. Voici mon amie Caroline. Elle est célibataire et elle est plutôt fantaisiste. Elle adore les voyages. Let me introduce my friend Caroline. She’s single and pretty unconventional. She loves travelling.
