Ma France - Tips 10 & 11 - Eating out and Booking a gîte
Bonjour !
Are you ready to tackle the next two units? They’ll help you plan and get the most out of your next visit to France as they focus on expressing likes and dislikes when eating out and on booking rented accommodation, a gîte, for example.
Tip 10 :
Finding your way around the menu takes practice, so why not reward yourself with a meal out in a local French restaurant? If the staff are French, you'll be able to order in French, too. Alternatively, why not tempt your palate with a virtual meal chosen from the restaurant Nathalie visited in Lyons: www.lecarodelyon.com. Click on La carte to see the fabulous menus. Bon appétit !Tip 11 :
On the Gîtes de France website there are masses to choose from. Go to www.gites-de-france.com, indicate your preferences and take a look at the range available. To practise the new expressions out loud, just imagine you are showing someone around your kitchen. Can you name all the appliances? Try describing the facilities and services in your area, too. Il y a une superette ? Et un distributeur de billets ?
If you’d like to work on your French with a friend, then check out the Tutors’ section. In Ma France en classe you’ll find a range of suggestions for how to practise with a partner or with a group.
Check out the mini lessons on 'Ordering food' and 'Booking a gîte'. They last 6 and 8 minutes respectively and are very good to use as revision.
