Jamie Gullan made no mistake from 12 yards, twice

Jamie Gullan scored two penalties as St Johnstone beat Greenock Morton and made it two wins out of two in their Premier Sports Cup group.

Half-time substitute Gullan broke the deadlock from 12 yards after Ruari Paton had been fouled by Grant Gillespie.

Reece McAlear volleyed Saints' second from the edge of the box.

Dean Black impeded Josh Fowler and Gullan converted his second spot-kick.

Macaulay Tait made his St Johnstone debut as a second-half substitute.

Elsewhere in Group F, Inverness Caledonian Thistle won 2-0 away to Linlithgow Rose and Caley Thistle have five points from two games, one more than East Fife. The top three have all played twice.

Rose have three points from three fixtures while Morton sit bottom with no points from three matches.
