Liz's profile..."I'm a 33 year old amateur artist born and bred in Lancashire! I'm a half Spanish, half Irish/Scotch girl living in in Preston. I love making all kinds of artwork and also creating music on the computer in my bedroom recording studio in Preston. ![]() I love painting the landscapes of Lancashire and Cumbria because in my opinion it is the most beautiful, changeable landscape anywhere that I have been in the world! I attended Preston College studying Art & Photography. I went on to study at Blackpool and the Fylde college specialising in Graphic Design. After I graduated from Blackpool I exhibited work all over the UK. I worked as an Advertising Agency Art Director before travelling the Middle East and living on a Kibbutz in Israel. I am (I suppose) a trained artist, however because I've been so busy with full time work, socialising, involved in pub quiz teams and charity fundraising etc I haven't done MUCH any art in years! Until one day my very talented musician friend Joanne Rishton saw one of my paintings and encouraged me to take up my paintbrush again! I thought I would be a bit rusty, but it's like riding a bike! You never forget! I've studied Textile design, Printmaking, Linocut, Etchings, Fine art (painting, mixed media), Graphic design, Video making, Photography, Pottery and Stained glass window design to name but a few! I have won competitions, awards and sold my work in galleries, craft fayres and even pubs! I love creating things and there is absolutely NOTHING more satisfying in this life than creating something others can gain pleasure from!" last updated: 12/02/2008 at 10:13 SEE ALSO
