Win enjoys painting the ever-changing scenery around her home town of Lytham...
Win's profile...
"I am originally from Lytham but have lived in several other places, firstly in Manchester, to attend college and then on to Cheshire where I taught Art and Technology for a number of years. I moved back to Lancashire to run my own department in Preston. As luck would have it, I spent my final few years of teaching back in Lytham.
I have lived in Ansdell for 12 years with my husband and two teenage children.
I have now finished teaching and enjoy painting, particularly in the local vicinity. I prefer landscapes and have an ever-changing scene right on my doorstep. I am fascinated with sky, rocks and water. This area has it all for me. This is why the majority of my paintings are of the Ribble estuary although I do venture up into the Lakes occasionally.
I have also travelled further afield to add to my folio of work. Three years ago I was fortunate enough to paint in Tuscany with the artist Graham Giles. The landscape work I did there taught me a great deal. Last year I worked in Arles, painting many of the scenes that Van Gogh studied.
Some of my work is in 'Sides' gallery in Lytham but more can be seen in www.minigalleryworld.com/win_sweeney."
