Linda's profile...
"I graduated in 1995 from Anglia Polytechnic with a 2:1 BA Combined Honours English and Art degree. After graduating I worked full time in a variety of administrative jobs but I always painted or was creative in some way in my spare time. Then in 1998 I attended pottery evening classes and my love for ceramics grew from there. Although I worked full-time I volunteered at a local pottery workshop and developed my skills by practicing working with clay there every Thursday evening for about four years.
I have now developed a body of work that focuses on hand-built and unglazed pieces which are purely decorative. All of my work is burnished so that the surface is smooth and slightly reflective. The process of working with the clay means that there is a strong involvement with each individual piece. They are delicate, sensual objects that are inspired by nature and the environment we live in.
Although I exhibit my ceramic pieces I continue to paint as a hobby."
