David's profile...

David has been teaching calligraphy for more years than he cares to remember at local colleges and now at Portfolio Arts and Crafts Centre in Blackburn.

David first became interested in the subject of calligraphy after he was given a set of pens, and he quickly realised that the craft was not as easy as it appeared!

He studied at college for several years before taking up a teaching post with Accrington and Rossendale College. Deeper study of ancient manuscripts and gathering inspiration from the Lindisfarne Gospels, David became a lecturer on the production methods of the ancient scribes and their craft.

David has done demonstrations and has held numerous exhibitions of his work within the local area and has completed commissions for various organisations throughout the country.
