Big day for Barry

Series One

Do De Dum De Da

The Smoking Room, episode one. First aired 29/06/04 BBC THREE

Tough day for Barry...

Barry has a interview for a job he knows should be his. As far as he knows he's only up against Malcolm (aka 'Alcky-Malcky'), and since he's currently under the influence and lying on his back clutching a traffic cone, everything looks good.

Then Barry finds out about a third candidate, Monique. She's an agressive climber from an outside company. She's young, dynamic and can speak Polish.

Addiction Stats
RobinRobin spends by far the longest in the smoking room. In episode one he manages to return to work for just four and a half minutes before realising he needs another fag break.

Robin can't return to his work until he's remembered the theme tune from The Little House on the Prairie. It's easily confused with The Waltons.

when Monique turns up...

MoniqueNot only does she know the 'Little House on the Prairie' theme tune, she also knows how to fix the coffee machine. Maintenance man Clint can't believe it.

(The Smoking Room theme music is "Close To Me" by The Cure.)
