This afternoon will be generally cloudy, with outbreaks of rain in the north at first and scattered light showers later across Scotland. Some sunny spells will develop in places in the evening.

Tonight, the western half of Scotland will become largely dry with clear spells. Further east, there will be more cloud and scattered light showers, especially in the south-east.

Tuesday

Tomorrow morning will be mostly dry with variable cloud. In the afternoon, it will become mostly sunny, although areas of low cloud will linger over the Northern Isles and the far north-east mainland.

Outlook for Wednesday to Friday

Wednesday looks set to be dry, with large areas of cloud in the east and partly cloudy skies elsewhere. Trending milder on Thursday, and it will stay dry with plenty of sunshine, and just a few clouds to the east. Settled on Friday with morning fog and sunshine later. It may be cloudy across the Northern Isles, however.
