Clacton Promenade, Lee-over-Sands and Brightlingsea sea front may see some wave overtopping and spray. The Strood at Mersea Island, Coast Road and car parks on the front at West Mersea, and the Hythe and Promenade at Maldon may be flooded. The detailed forecast is for a peak level at Clacton of 2.77 mAODN at 12:15pm, on Saturday 10th October, which is 0.28m above tide tables, Wind Force 5, Westerly. High tides, strong winds and large waves tomorrow morning may lead to flooding. Flooding is possible from 04:45 to 08:15 on Saturday, 10/10/2026. Locations most affected will be coastal roads and footpaths along the North Sea coast from Mappleton to Spurn Point. Locations most affected will be low lying land and roads near rivers or on the coast, with spray being seen on the seafront paths. Flood gates in the area will be closed by the Local Authority which will make access difficult. Please take notice of the Flood Sign at the top of South Beach Road. The detailed forecast is for a peak level at King's Lynn of 4.02mAODN at 06:30am, on 10 October, which is 0.15m above tide tables, Wind Force 6, Westerley. Flooding is possible from 17:30 to 19:30 on 10/10/2026 Flooding is forecast to affect locations at Porlock Bay, with low lying land and roads expected to be most affected, particularly around the coastline between Gore Point and Hurlstone Point including Porlock Weir. The highest tide is at 18:30 on Saturday 10/10/2026 with a peak height of 6.19m and a F5 westerly wind. We are closely monitoring the situation . Warning. Flooding is expected in Strath Oykel. Act now. Agricultural land in Strath Oykel, from Oykel Bridge to Inveroykel Bailey Bridge and at Invercassley, is at risk of flooding. Inveroykel Bailey Bridge may be inaccessible. For information, the river level at Easter Turnaig gauging station exceeded 1.6m at 06:45 BST.
