There's the whistle. Just that one Kylian Mbappe goal the difference.

Will the storm stay away long enough to see this one out?

Iraq are second best by a distance but they are not really cowered by it, they keep playing their football.

Zidane Iqbal has really stood out in this first half against top level quality. Technically secure, slowing down the game through clever feints, punchy short passes and accurate, looping long ones to the forwards up top. Has put in a defensive shift too.

France are obviously very comfortable in this game, but I want to be entertained. They're trying to walk it in. Take some shots please!

Iraq have started to carry a threat. They are starting to find a way out. Now it's about whether they can create an opportunity?

We can no longer see the city. It has completely disappeared in the distance. It is not stopping the crowd, they love it. The volume has gone up inside the stadium.

The rain is properly coming down. Lots of fans are now wearing ponchos. The skies above are dark, very dark.

Remember, if lightning is detected within eight miles of the stadium, the game will pause for 30 minutes and fans escorted to safe areas.

Hussein Ali has made a great first tackle and then an absolutely brilliant second.

That was magnificent defending because Kylian Mbappe was away there after his first beautiful piece of skill.

The defending is exceptional because of the movement from Kylian Mbappe... Hussein Ali just does enough. Iraq have done extremely well to thwart France at times.

Oh my word. A ridiculous turn from Kylian Mbappe and injection of pace to almost score what would have been an incredible solo goal.

Hussein Ali just does enough to prevent the shot being a dangerous one.

Iraq wanted a foul, but Adrien Rabiot wins the ball. Kylian Mbappe has the vision, but not the execution to find the back of the net.

I thought it was getting lighter the rain. It has just picked up again.

Players will be relieved by the rain, it's a lovely feeling as long as you don't get the thunder and lightning with it as well.

It will cool them down and it will change the game because the ball will zip across the surface much better.

Now it's like being in Manhester, Neil.

Anyway, on we go. Kylian Mbappe tries his luck from the half-way line but it sails over the bar.
