Blowing in the wind
The ship has left the ice behind and is getting close to Longyearbyen. After missing out last week, there's a second chance to dive near walruses at one of their known haul-outs, if the winds are kind.
The team meanwhile are adjusting to how much warmer it feels, at just 78°N.

Walrus safety
Preparing to dive near walruses, supervisor Pete West reckons the animals are behaving a bit like whales, 'spy-hopping' to keep an eye on the film crew. There's a lot of uncertainty though about how they'll behave if the boats and divers get really close, and tusks up to 40cm long make the walruses a hazard to be approached with caution.
