The BBC Philharmonic's Principal Conductor, Gianandrea Noseda, led an all-Italian line-up of soloists in Verdi's profoundly beautiful, operatically-proportioned masterpiece. Verdi's daring arrangement of the Latin text for the Requiem Mass brought its share of criticism in his day, but its sheer magnificence remains unsurpassed.
