Continuing the special Christmas series of highlights from the summer Proms. In his monumental 3rd Symphony, Mahler attempted to create an all-encompassing work of art, reflecting the entire world through the elements of Nature, Man, God and Love. For the first of two ambitious concerts at the Proms, The Cleveland Orchestra devoted itself to this epic hymn to the universe.
