Maryam says many health workers in Afghanistan are deeply worried about the future.
Now that women are no longer allowed to study at medical institutes, no new female doctors or midwives are being trained.
Those already working have very limited opportunities to update their knowledge and skills.
She also says some of her colleagues have stopped working because of Taliban restrictions, including rules requiring women to travel with a male guardian.
I know women who have been forced to stay at home because they cannot meet these conditions.
