Summary

An Atlantic low will move steadily northeastwards to the north of Scotland, while high pressure slowly declines in the southeast. A slack northwesterly flow will then become dominant by Thursday.

Strong winds warnings are in effect in the following locations:
  • From Cape Wrath to Rattray Head including Orkney
  • St Davids Head to Great Ormes Head, including St Georges Channel
  • Great Ormes Head to the Mull of Galloway
  • Isle of Man
  • Mull of Kintyre to Ardnamurchan Point
  • The Minch
  • Ardnamurchan Point to Cape Wrath including the Outer Hebrides
  • Shetland Isles
  • For Coastal areas up to 60 nautical miles from Lerwick, Shetland
