Hancock gets his teeth into Stags

Field Mill

A Nottingham-based dentist has agreed a deal to buy relegated Football League club Mansfield Town.

Colin Hancock, currently the chairman of Unibond League side Glapwell, will take an executive role at Field Mill to ensure the new season gets underway.

Dr Hancock and current owner Keith Haslam have agreed terms and hope to conclude a deal in the coming weeks.

The deal will see Haslam hand over the football club, the Stags' Field Mill stadium and surrounding land.

Haslam's long-drawn-out attempt to sell the club hung like a cloud last season as Mansfield were relegated to the Blue Square Premier, ending their 77-year stay in the Football League.
