Haslam is now pondering Derry's revised offer to buy the club |
Mansfield Town managing director Keith Haslam is to consider a revised offer from chairman James Derry to buy the League Two club. Haslam had agreed terms to sell the club to Derry's consortium on 5 October but the deal was never completed.
"Their new offer has dramatically changed from that initial bid," Haslam told the Stags' website.
"James has made it clear that it was his final offer. I think a decision will probably be made next week."
Haslam bought the Stags from previous owner Abacus Holdings for 1 in 1993.
He continued: "The consortium have done their due diligence, and I can assure supporters that I am trying to procure a sale of the club at the earliest convenience.
"Whether the above mentioned deal is the right one, I can't really say at the moment.
"If the offer that we signed up to in October had been stuck to, we would have agreed a deal by now."
