How's that for a warm up to the weekend?

There's so much to talk about it that match that it will still be on people's lips come Saturday lunchtime but don't think the other teams across League One won't want to be the talk of the town.

Leicester City especially would like to change the narrative as their stumbling start is supplied another test in a visit to Stockport County, while bottom club Wigan Athletic will be hoping to upset league leaders Sheffield Wednesday.

Magennis has everything, he is so quick. He was so good tonight. It would be easy for him to come here and just take the pay check.

He said when he signed he didn't want to do that, he said he wanted to make a difference.

There was a lot of people who weren't too happy with him signing but he is really proving people wrong.

Stevenage have elevated from 16th place to fourth, into the play-off places and above Luton Town.

It's so tight on the table that the Hatters could be dropping much further down the table after the weekend's action.

They managed the game so well. That was a long twenty minutes for Stevenage but there was no real danger after the Luton goal.

Stevenage just had the opportunity to load up their defence. They defended so well, especially after conceding that goal. They managed the goal much better than Luton really.

Bonkers goals but it's Stevenage who claim victory, a very controversial one at that.

There was already lots of chatter about whether Luton captain Liam Walsh should have been awarded a free kick before the opener in the first half but while that one might be subject to opinion, the second is not so up for debate.

Josh Magennis was clearly offside but it wasn't picked up by the linesman and his goal stood to double the lead.

Luton scraped one back after Kasey Palmer's shot took a massive deflection off team-mate Mads Andersen, however, that's all they could muster.

The Hatters will feel robbed. That's for sure.

Approaching the final minute and the ball is with Luton but up the wrong end of the pitch.

A long forward ball is launched up. It's not going to find Nahki Wells.

It is all pretty desperate now. Luton are desperate to get back into it and Stevenage are just fighting them off.

Luther James-Wildin is given a late yellow card and awards Luton a free-kick.

Big pressure on substitute Jake Richards to deliver and he doesn't. Easy for the Boro defence to head out.

A win has slipped from the visitors grasps for sure, has a leveller too?

The Luton fans are started to get frustrated, they want to see their team get the ball forward.

Stevenage are sitting in a very deep block and Luton are going to have to try and break them down, that is going to be very hard to do.

Luton will have an additional seven minutes to search for a point... or more with that kind of time on the clock.

Luton thread together some passes but as soon as they try to take it forward, the pass is overhit and sails straight to the Boro goal keeper.

Don't feel too down about it though, Luton fans. There's going to be quite a bit of additional time in this.

Phillips is a great player for Stevenage, he has had to be very controlled after an early yellow card.

He has been fantastic on the ball tonight though.

Brand new Stevenage signing Matt Smith is on for his debut. He joined on a free transfer just three days ago.

Joe Johnson is given acres of space by Stevenage and is spotted by Kasey Palmer.

Johnson returns the favour by supplying a delicious cross into the box for Palmer to get a nod on but he can't keep it down.
