Lack of quality, lack of options, lack of optimism!! Unfortunately, unless the club gets their act together & bring some quality in this week it’s going to be a long season. Let’s be honest, Newcastle are poor & they’ve been better than Liverpool!

Jacob Murphy goes on the outside of Milos Kerkez and sends in a stunner of a ball. It just needs someone to gamble but no one does.

Newcastle have been doing shrewd business all summer unnoticed. They’re my dark horse for top four this season. Spending money wisely unlike a certain North London club…

Great defending from Malick Thiaw to use his body and usher Milos Kerkez behind.

Yoane Wissa should've scored. The ball just wouldn't come down for Wissa. He had to snatch at it slightly early and couldn't get enough power.

We mentioned earlier that Mohamed Salah had opened his Trabzonspor account. Well, he's gone and scored a second.

    Gary Neville

It's been a bit downbeat, even my feeling today on the way here was 'what is going on at Newcastle.' They've got an important 10 or so minutes ahead.

Good change of pace from Jeremie Frimpong to find a yard to dig out a cross. It's Alexander Isak who meets it with his head but there's no pace on it.

I’m a Reds fan. We were leaky it at the back last year and didn’t score a great deal of goals either. Unfortunately, I see this season as being exactly the same.

It's one of those games where there has been a lot of substitutions over a quick period of time and it has got messy.

I don't think Newcastle will mind that.

Someone has to do something special. There's not been enough creativity from Liverpool and now with Florian Wirtz off you don't know where it will come from.
