Summary

Have your say

  1. Goal 'so avoidable' for Unitedpublished at 18:46 BST

    HT: Dundee United 0-1 Dundee

    Steven Thompson
Former Rangers & St Mirren striker on BBC Sportsound

United will be really disappointed because they probably had better control of the game for large spells without really creating any opportunities.

To go in 1-0 down in that way is so avoidable.

  2. Goalscorer Wright 'outstanding'published at 18:44 BST

    HT: Dundee United 0-1 Dundee

    Tony Docherty
Former Dundee manager on Premier Sports

Drey Wright has absolutely dominated Jesse Randall on the right side. He's been outstanding.

  3. Moment of magic lights up derbypublished at 18:41 BST

    HT: Dundee United 0-1 Dundee

    Tyrone Smith
    BBC Scotland at Tannadice

Drey Wright's brilliant strike is what separates the sides. A rare moment of quality in an often frantic opening 45 minutes.

United have had plenty of possession and have got themselves into some good positions, but have done very little with it.

Dundee took their chance when it came, and some.

It certainly sets up an intriguing second half.

  4. HALF-TIME Dundee United 0-1 Dundeepublished at 18:37 BST

  5. CHANGE OF YELLOW CARDpublished at 18:36 BST

    Dundee United 0-1 Dundee

Hold on. The booking is now given to Ryan Finnigan under the newfangled mistaken identity rules.

That seems absurd. There's no foul from the Dundee player as he is tackled then stands on the ball.

  6. YELLOW CARDpublished at 18:35 BST

    Dundee United 0-1 Dundee

Abdoulaye Yoro looks upset to be cautioned for clipping Ryan Finnigan near the United penalty area.

On second look, the Dundee player appears to have stood on the ball.

  7. 'Calm and calculated'published at 18:33 BST

    Dundee United 0-1 Dundee

    Willie Miller
Former Aberdeen defender on BBC Sportsound

Dundee United, they've got a huge opportunity going the other way and the pass is unbelievably poor.

Drey Wright gets onto it and he's only got one thing on his mind. So calm and calculated.

  8. Magnificent strikepublished at 18:32 BST

    Dundee United 0-1 Dundee

    Tyrone Smith
    BBC Scotland at Tannadice

Wow! What a finish by Drey Wright, drilled straight into the net.

Yes he was gifted the ball in the first place, but my goodness, what a magnificent strike.

As soon as he hit it you knew it was in.

    Sensational.

  10. goal

GOAL Dundee United 0-1 Dundeepublished at 18:29 BST

    Drey Wright

The away fans go bananas as Drey Wright intercepts near the halfway line then strides forward to arrow an unstoppable shot past Jack Walton from outside the penalty box.

  11. 'Best passage of play'published at 18:27 BST

    Dundee United 0-0 Dundee

    Steven Thompson
Former Rangers & St Mirren striker on BBC Sportsound

That's probably the best bit of football we've had in the game so far.

It's good defending at the front post.

  12. Postpublished at 18:26 BST

    Dundee United 0-0 Dundee

Great defending from Ryan Astley as he prevents United striker Idjessi Metsoko knocking in a low cross from Mehdi Merghem at the front post.

  13. Breathlesspublished at 18:25 BST

    Dundee United 0-0 Dundee

    Michael Stewart

Suddenly, this is like a cup tie with five minutes to go.

A game of football is finally starting to break out with play raging from end to end at the moment.

Both sides are lacking any real composure in the attacking areas though.

  15. 'Just hit it'published at 18:22 BST

    Dundee United 0-0 Dundee

    Steven Thompson
Former Rangers & St Mirren striker on BBC Sportsound

That was such a good opportunity but what killed it was Camara's pass, it was far too floaty and slow.

When it arrives at Randall's feet I don't know why he doesn't just hit it with his left foot.

Dundee United should have been doing better on that counter-attack.

  16. Postpublished at 18:22 BST

    Dundee United 0-0 Dundee

Dundee are caught short at the back as United come speeding forward on the break.

However, Jesse Randall's touch is not great and that buys some valuable time for the visitors to get a block in.

  17. Postpublished at 18:18 BST

    Dundee United 0-0 Dundee

United forward Jesse Randall takes aim for the far top corner from the edge of the penalty box but there's not enough curl on the ball as it whizzes wide.

  18. Postpublished at 18:16 BST

    Dundee United 0-0 Dundee

The games's first save of note comes from Owen Goodman, but it's a simple one as the Dundee custodian claws away a looping header from Vicko Sevelj.

  19. CLOSE!published at 18:13 BST

    Dundee United 0-0 Dundee

That's better from Dundee striker Joe Westley, who pings a shot just wide from 22 yards.

It takes a wee deflection on the way, but nothing comes of the corner.

  20. Waiting for a game to break outpublished at 18:12 BST

    Dundee United 0-0 Dundee

    Tyrone Smith
    BBC Scotland at Tannadice

So far, this has not been a classic.

It's definitely in the blood and snotters category at the moment.
