We've got a concussion test up here because Ben Stokes has thudded a bouncer into Luke Proctor's helmet.

At the very same moment in Glamorgan, Gus Atkinson also hit Asa Tribe with a bouncer. There's a concussion test there too.

It's an inexperienced bowling line up for England, that's what I'm slightly concerned about. We saw the wheels came off a bit bowling yesterday.

Double change again for New Zealand, as Nathan Smith replaces Matt Henry.

Just one single from the over as we head into drinks.

This partnership is now worth 18 - 17 of them are Matthew Fisher's, the other run a leg bye.

Sonny Baker is yet to score off 12 deliveries.

They need one of these really frustrating last wicket stands that can happen.

A first change for New Zealand, as Will O'Rourke replaces Kyle Jamieson.

Matthew Fisher welcomes him to attack by sending his first ball over the covers for four.

Four dot balls follow, including one where Fisher is struck by a short delivery, before the England number nine runs a leg bye to retain the strike.

Feels like Ben Stokes being dropped is working out well for him. You don’t know what you got till it’s gone, and it’s clear this team is only going to work with him in it.

Surely this Test is showing what an absolute shambles the environment is? Roy Key/Brendon McCullum should have been sacked after Ashes. This summer has highlighted it even more.

    Graeme, Haywards Heath

There’s been 15 red ball innings at the Oval this summer (including New Zealand's first innings). The lowest score (all out) is Sussex’s 277. England being on course to score the lowest total of the summer on this Oval road just about sums it all up.

Matthew Fisher takes a single off the first ball from Matt Henry, allowing Sonny Baker to take the strike.

The number 11 faces five dot balls without scoring.

    I've been there, Jamie.

Tourists are offered the opportunity to try and slip down the extremely narrow tunnel openings.

England find themselves in a substantially bigger hole here - they still trail by 142, as Matthew Fisher takes two off the first ball from Kyle Jamieson and then adds a single off his last.

Listening on the way back to Ho Chi Minh City after a visit to the Cu Chi Tunnels which were used by the Viet Cong during the war. A fascinating and sobering experience.

Biggest cheer of the day here as Ben Stokes comes into the attack FOR DURHAM.

And a dropped catch off his fourth ball! That would have been a story.

That's an outstanding effort, Devon Conway retrieving the ball and doing it all on his own.

It's not a bad option for Matt Fisher. That's the way to get rid of the keeper!

It came to Tom Blundell on the half volley. If he had got the ball in his gloves, Fisher would have been out.

Well, that's the danger of standing up.

Matthew Fisher scoots round to scoop Matt Henry over his shoulder and manages to flick the ball into a delicate area for wicketkeeper Tom Blundell - does that count as a drop?

The England number nine sends the next ball out to backward point and hares back for a two, diving for his crease.

The throw from Devon Conway is a touch wide and may not have even taken Fisher's wicket with a direct hit, but had it gone to the non-striker's end then New Zealand might have been in business, as Sonny Baker hesitated before taking the second.

Fisher subsequently takes a three out to point, with Conway again scrambling to stop a four.

Matthew Fisher turns Kyle Jamieson behind square for two, then takes a single to bring debutant Sonny Baker on strike.

Nathan Smith's taken a good grab there. The tactic from yesterday afternoon to bring Tom Blundell up to the stumps has got Matthew Henry his 5-fer. England are in a pickle here.

Everything is going New Zealand's way.

Matt Henry has his five-fer, and it's thanks to another excellent bit of fielding from Nathan Smith.

Josh Tongue toe-ends a loopy shot towards mid-on, where Smith scrambles backwards.

He puts two hands up to take the ball, spills it, but while falling backwards completes a one-handed grab.

    Top stuff.

It's a very dry day today. Over the course of the next few days this pitch will bake and bake.

The problem here is you can't see where the boundaries are going to come from. England need to get that scoreboard ticking.
