Look Around YouViewers' Letters Colin R. Langport
Look Around You People

I have just read Wayne Eden's letter regarding C.B. Radio. I think Look Around you is very wise not to include an article on this subject, as I think C.B. radio will turn out to be nothing more than a flash in the pan. What Wayne doesn't seem to have taken into account is "miniaturisation". In a very few years from now, everyone will be travelling around on miniature electric tricycles like the new Sinclair C5. Even the weight of an 8 track player has an adverse effect on the stability and road holding of these vehicles, never mind a C.B. radio with a 12 foot "twig"! Also, the power requirements of this type of equipment will seriously the distance between battery recharges. No Mr Eden, I'm afraid C.B. radio is a non-starter. Unless you're suggesting that we'll somehow also be able to miniaturise electronic components?- I think not!
