This film is set in an imaginary country in Africa which sees the end of a bloody ten year ethnic war. A peace treaty is due to be signed between the President's Nayak, ethnic group and the Bonandés, who are led by Colonel Théo.

To mark this momentous occasion, the leader of the rebellion organises a feast of reconciliation at which the President and his wife are present.

But all is not well. The first lady is unhappy about being there. She cannot forget that their oldest son was massacred by the rebels.

As the night of festivities progresses, the tension grows. And with it, old wounds are reopened; old conflicts reignited. This puts the purpose of the gathering - reconciliation between the two factions into jeopardy. However, in one moment of extreme confusion, certain protagonists succeed in stopping the gears of hatred, creating a forum for a lasting peace between the two.

This film is dedicated to the film maker's uncle who was arrested, tortured and killed in 1983 after he had been accused of planning a coup against the government.
