FESPACO INDEX
O Herói
O Herói
Hero tells the story of several people who represent sections of Angola's post war society who are trying to find a semblance of normality after the country's brutal civil war.

We meet Vitório who has just returned from the front lines, where he lost his leg when he stepped on a land mine. He is stumbling - literally and figuratively - in his attempt to build a new life for himself in the Angolan capital of Luanda. Every day he has to find a way of keeping his prosthetic leg away from thieves.

Then we meet Little Manu who is searching endlessly for his father, who hasn't yet returned from the war. Maria Barbára is one of thousands of parents who are searching for their lost children. And then there's Joana, a middle-class schoolteacher, striving to find political hope amidst the post - war corruption.
