I feel like we are watching Arthur Fery's reactions a lot, but now is the time we should be looking at how Flavio Cobolli absorbs what he hasn't been able to take advantage of. Those break points were a must for him, so will he be able to maintain his level?

Cobolli has to start to press, he can't just sit back and hope because Fery is taking advantage without hesitation.

  2. Zverev breaks in thirdpublished at 17:10 BST

    Fritz 4-6 4-6 1-2 Zverev*

Nothing is coming easy today for Taylor Fritz. He leads this game 40-15 but again a failure to take control of rallies costs him.

He gets caught moving back to the baseline and Alexander Zverev forces deuce.

Then the German plays some superb shots in a tasty rally and Fritz eventually goes long to give him the advantage and the break point.

Another error from Fritz gives the world number three the game and he can see the finish line now.

Arthur Fery drills a ferocious down-the-line forehand and Flavio Cobolli puts his reply into the net.

Two break points saved as Fery comes through his service game to consolidate the break.

  4. 'Fery knows how important this service game is'published at 17:08 BST

    *Fery 6-4 7-6 (7-4) 1-0 Cobolli

    Tim Henman
Former British number one on BBC One

Arthur Fery has done so brilliantly there!

The first serve percentage has just dropped a little bit in this game but he got into the rally and it was a good use of the drop shot to then get back quickly for the smash.

He knows how important this service game is to consolidate that early break, but he will need some first serves to go in!

  5. Second deucepublished at 17:08 BST

    *Fery 6-4 7-6 (7-4) 1-0 Cobolli

Great defence from Flavio Cobolli, at full stretch on his backhand at the net and then spinning almost 360 degrees as he recovers another at the baseline, but Arthur Fery saves another break point.

    *Fery 6-4 7-6 (7-4) 1-0 Cobolli

A rare error from Arthur Fery at the net. Flavio Cobolli's shot dipped low over the net and Fery couldn't dig it up and over.

    Saved with a back-pedalling smash!

  8. Zverev holdspublished at 17:05 BST

    *Fritz 4-6 4-6 1-1 Zverev

Alexander Zverev's forehand really is a thing of beauty today.

The German hits one well to force Taylor Fritz wide and takes control of the game 30-0.

Fritz does respond to get on the board but then a rash forehand goes too long and puts Zverev 40-15 ahead.

A nice forehand smash from Fritz makes it 40-30 but the American fails to punish a poor drop shot from Zverev and the German lobs him to hold to 30.

At 30-15, Arthur Fery and Flavio Cobolli engage in an exhausting 22-shot baseline exchange. Fery concedes the point with a tired forehand. No wonder.

Another forehand goes long from the British number three with Cobolli finally finding some rhythm with his groundstrokes.

    Break point.

  10. 'Behind the eight ball'published at 17:04 BST

    *Fery 6-4 7-6 (7-4) 1-0 Cobolli

    Todd Woodbridge
Former Wimbledon doubles champion on BBC One

When you lose your favourite shot and your best weapon, like Flavio Cobolli's forehand, then you're really behind the eight ball.

You wouldn't have predicted that the quality of Arthur Fery's forehand would be 9.2 out of 10 compared to Cobolli's 7.7 out of 10.

  11. 'Cobolli looks lost'published at 17:02 BST

    *Fery 6-4 7-6 (7-4) 1-0 Cobolli

    Andrew Cotter
    Commentator on BBC One

Oh my word, Arthur Fery just goes from strength to strength! He is two sets and a break up.

Flavio Cobolli looks lost out there.

And this guy is a wildcard? His demeanour, volleying skills and serving is incredible. He looks like he belongs here in the big time and is playing so well.

Arthur Fery may not get across the Mersey but he may well be on his way to a Wimbledon semi-final.

Just tuned in to see the final point of that tie-break. SHIVERS!! Come on Arthur... it's coming home!!!

Fery has been magnificent. Cobolli has not been allowed to settle. Too many unforced errors from the Italian.

    *Fery 6-4 7-6 (7-4) 1-0 Cobolli

Oh, that is quite dismal from Flavio Cobolli. A drab forehand into the net on break point.

"Come on!" says Arthur Fery, positively skipping back to his chair for a quick swig.

What a start to the third set for Fery.

  15. Fritz holdspublished at 17:00 BST

    Fritz 4-6 4-6 1-0 Zverev*

That was a decent start to the third set for Taylor Fritz.

Two aces from the American are impressive and then Alexander Zverev is just wide with a backhand.

But some sloppy tennis allows the German back into game and he forces deuce when Fritz fires a couple into the net.

The sixth seed responds again though and wins the game with an ace.

  16. Break point Ferypublished at 17:00 BST

    Fery 6-4 7-6 (7-4) 0-0 Cobolli*

A chant of "Let's go, Arthur, let's go!" starts up as Flavio Cobolli nets a backhand for 30-all.

Arthur Fery takes a return early and forces an error from the Italian.

As the third set gets under way, it's time for a non-scientific poll.

Thumbs up if you think Arthur Fery is going through to the semi-finals. Thumbs down if you're predicting a Flavio Cobolli fightback.

Taylor Fritz is going off the court here, just looking for a little bit of a reset.

He is going to need to reset in a big way because this has been two near-flawless opening sets of tennis. Alexander Zverev has been pulling out remarkable stuff. His percentage is high and his accuracy has been amazing.

His second serve points won in that second set were sitting at 100%, compared to just 31% for Fritz. He is cashing in on those rallies.

  19. Postpublished at 16:57 BST

    Fery 6-4 7-6 (7-4) 0-0 Cobolli*

Arthur Fery returns to the court to warm cheers.

Flavio Cobolli spent the extended interval sitting, staring, in his chair before heading over to his box for a conversation. He looks quite furious.

  20. Fritz goes off court trailing by two setspublished at 16:56 BST

    *Fritz 4-6 4-6 Zverev

Taylor Fritz went of for a quick break. He maybe went to try to reset himself. The American has beaten Alexander Zverev the past seven times they've met but he is being well beaten here.
