The Spaniard is kindly helped back into the game by a series of Gauff errors, but Gauff rallies to deuce and then break point!

Iga Swiatek battles into the fourth round.
It took two tie-breaks and just shy of two and a half hours but the former champion progresses.
Marie Bouzkova made her work for every point and the Czech deserves so much credit for her performance - the crowd agree as they give her a warm ovation as she exits the court.
For Swiatek, the bid for a second US Open title goes on and she will take confidence from coming through such a big test.

Cristina Bucsa would have known she wouldn't get much support here today, but any mistake she makes is being pounced on by the crowd in an attempt to boost a stuttering Coco Gauff.
Bucsa misses her chance and a couple of errors allow Gauff to escape. It's already feeling pretty tense, this.

She comes to the net and gets a volley all wrong but it loops into the corner and she's back in position to put away the next volley.
Marie Bouzkova pushed all the way but - after the longest game of a match filled with long games - both players will have to go to the well once more.

Bucsa finds the angles to send Gauff scrambling around the court, but the American displays her athleticism by getting to everything her opponent can throw at her until Bucsa fires a forehand winner down the line. Great stuff.

Another top-10 seed in the men's draw has fallen.
Italian fifth seed Flavio Cobolli is out, losing in four sets to Alexander Blockx despite taking the opening set.
But French Open runner-up Cobolli won just six of the 24 games from there.
Blockx will now face Francisco Cerundolo for a place in the quarter-finals, after the Argentine's victory over American ninth seed Taylor Fritz. What an opportunity for both players that is!

Marie Bouzkova hits a stunning backhand winner, down the line, to go up 0-15 but Iga Swiatek soon brushes that off.
Another winner, crushed into the corner, brings up two games points but Bouzkova hangs in and, after a couple of Swiatak errors, it's deuce.

It's all quite flat at the moment on Arthur Ashe Stadium.
The crowd were hoping to witness two big American wins during this day session. Instead, men's title hope Taylor Fritz lost from two sets up and now Coco Gauff has been immediately put on the back foot here.
Gauff falters on a backhand to concede the opening point in this service game - but she holds from 40-30 with a backhand winner that clips the net but drops kindly.

Last year Coco Gauff was just dishevelled from the way her serve fell, she brought in Gavin MacMillan who used to be on Aryna Sabalenka's team to try and straighten out the technique on the serve.

A second break point saved by Cristina Bucsa in this game - and then the Spaniard reaches game point with a brilliant lob which Coco Gauff just can't quite get to.
Bucsa then comes out on top in an entertaining close-range exchange to consolidate her advantage in the first set.

Another big hold for Marie Bouzkova.
The pair continue to trade blows from the baseline before, at 30-30, Iga Swiatek's eyes light up at a 71mph second serve... only to send the backhand return long.
The Pole then pulls a forehand wide and will have to serve to send the second set to a tie-break.

Cristina Bucsa appears to have settled quickest and looks on course for a comfortable hold of serve at 40-15.
A couple of misses later, however, and Coco Gauff has an opportunity for an immediate response.
Bucsa nets a forehand from the baseline to hand the fourth seed her second break point of the match, but rescues it with a clever serve out wide.
