Shaun Murphy was 45-0 ahead, Wu then makes a wonderful 91 clearance.

One frame from glory. One frame from being the second youngest Crucible winner. One frame from back-to-back Chinese world champions.

Stephen Hendry called it "one of the bravest pots I've seen in a while" and Wu downs a tough yellow which had been on the baulk cushion with the rest. Brilliant from Wu.

Are Shaun Murphy and Wu Yize going to serve up the first final-frame decider since Peter Ebdon beat Stephen Hendry in 2002?

If they do so it will be only the fourth on record since the tournament moved to the Crucible in 1977.

Can anyone remember the drama of the other two?

Wu was 45-0 behind. He has just sunk a long red and the door is open to snatch it, although there is a lot of work to do.

If Wu Yize becomes world champion today, it will be the fourth successive year that there has been a first-time winner at the Crucible.

Luca Brecel won the event in 2023, followed by Kyren Wilson a year later and Zhao Xintong 12 months ago.
