Wales cap would be 'dream come true' for Owen

Gwalia Lightning flanker Anwen Owen says it would be a dream to play for Wales.

The 24-year-old is one of 14 uncapped players included in head coach Sean Lynn's 33-player training squad against Barbarians at Allianz Stadium in Twickenham on 27 June.

The game will not see caps awarded, but could be an important stepping stone for Owen to impress and make her Test debut for Wales in future.

Owen began her rugby journey at the age of four playing with the boys at Cwmtwrch RFC until she was 14, when she moved onto Nelson Belles.

She has paid tribute to the family culture at Cwmtwrch where her father and brother also played.
