France's head coach Francois Ratier, speaking to BBC Sport: "I think the job has been done here today and now we have many things to fix during the week but it is 70 points so we can be happy."

On his side's score before half-time: "It was important and it was a symbol. We knew Scotland would never give up. We wanted to finish strong."

Scotland's captain Helen Nelson, speaking to BBC Sport: "We knew it was going to be tough but I think we are really proud of the defensive effort we put in.

"We have a lot of injuries at the moment but that allows some of the younger players to step up and I think they really did that here today. I think the energy off the bench was unbelievable.

"I think the mindset and the way we kept fighting back is probably the biggest positive from today. We weren't happy with our last couple of defensive performances and that is what we have been talking about, getting that fight and belief back and that is what we have shown today."

Scotland head coach Sione Fukofuka speaking to BBC Sport: "I am very proud of the response from the girls. Obviously there are a lot of areas that we need to work on and we will get back to that but after two big defeats that we didn't get right I am happy we came out and competed and took a bonus point which the girls should be proud of."

On where it went wrong: "It is that little bit of inexperience where momentum swings and we get a positive outcome out of it, we needed our next action to be positive and clearly we will go away and come back and reinforce that discipline."

France's Elisa Riffonneau, speaking to BBC Sport: "It was good. In the first minutes we made a lot of mistakes because of discipline. We did well after the first half and in the changing room we said that we wanted to be better and I think that is what we made in the second half.

"I think Scotland did well and it was difficult to defend them, it was a good battle."

For France, they delivered an almost identical performance to Grand Slam rivals England.

Eleven tries scored (England managed nine), with nine different players on the scoreboard, and relentless attacking, be it driving from set pieces or producing flair on the wings.

But, they leaked 28 points (England 33) after only conceding 21 in their first three matches.

Is a high-scoring title decider on the cards in Bordeaux?

It's a third heavy defeat in a row for Scotland, who remain fifth in the table, but they leave Edinburgh with a bonus point in the bank.

Rachel Philipps crossed twice on her first international start while Emily Coubrough and debutant Aicha Sutcliffe scored off the bench.

Helen Nelson was faultless from the tee while hooker Sutcliffe shored up the line-out in the second half.

However, they will be disappointed to concede a try within a few minutes of each of their scores.
