Well that just about does us.

A Challenge Cup tie for the ages sees Wigan gain passage to the semi-final stages, where they will take on old foes St Helens.

Meanwhile we'll have a rematch of last season's final as Warrington take on holders Hull KR.

That's where the Challenge Cup pauses for the time being as those two ties are set to take place on the weekend of 9 and 10 May.

Wigan Warriors head coach Matt Peet told BBC Sport:

"It was better than this time last week. It's been a challenging week, I'm really proud of some of the performance off the back of what we did in training.

"A lot of it was scrambled efforts, desire. When the system broke down - which happened a few times - Wakefield throw a lot at you.

"I thought we had a bit more desire which was something that St Helens outdid us [with] last week.

"I don't hold the players to task too much on the decisions they make, but the communication and attitude to cover for one another I think is what defines good defensive teams."

Wigan Warriors forward Junior Nsemba told BBC Sport:

"We had to put our bodies on the line. Wakefield attacked well but you have to put in everything that you've got.

"It was really tough. Obviously we didn't help ourselves at the beginning of the game defending for 15 minutes straight, but we had to find a way."

[On the semi-final against St Helens] "It'll be good to get them back. At their place last week it didn't go our way, so it'll be a very entertaining game to watch and hopefully we can get them back."

Wigan's player of the match Patrick Mago told BBC Sport:

"We knew Wakey would be strong and would be on their A game, so it's good to get the win today.

"We dug deep and got the win. We always believe in ourselves and to come back from that, the boys knew that if we dug deep we'd come away with the win, and we did it well.

[On upcoming St Helens semi-final tie] "It was a tough game last week but I'm looking forward to it."

Wigan have done it!

What a tie. Wakefield gave it absolutely everything. But Wigan have edged this tie and sealed a semi-final derby spot against St Helens.

What a colossal fixture of rugby league.

Surely this has won it for Wigan!

Oof, no sooner do Wakefield get going but they get PAST halfway and earn another set restart.

Liam Farrell should go over for Wigan but he's sublimely held up on the line by Wakefield.

Wigan keep it alive with another set and Jai Field sends Junior Nsemba through but just before he can dive to the line the ball slips out of his hands.

Tom Johnstone looks to race in for Wakefield on the sideline and he makes a last-ditch offload to keep the hosts' attack alive.

But Wigan are having none of it as five players are dispatched to haul the hosts in to touch.
