    FT: Wakefield 22-26 Wigan

Well that just about does us.

A Challenge Cup tie for the ages sees Wigan gain passage to the semi-final stages, where they will take on old foes St Helens.

Meanwhile we'll have a rematch of last season's final as Warrington take on holders Hull KR.

That's where the Challenge Cup pauses for the time being as those two ties are set to take place on the weekend of 9 and 10 May.

For now though, thank you very much for joining us.

  2. 'We had more desire than against St Helens'published at 15:09 BST

    FT: Wakefield 22-26 Wigan

Wigan Warriors head coach Matt Peet told BBC Sport:

"It was better than this time last week. It's been a challenging week, I'm really proud of some of the performance off the back of what we did in training.

"A lot of it was scrambled efforts, desire. When the system broke down - which happened a few times - Wakefield throw a lot at you.

"I thought we had a bit more desire which was something that St Helens outdid us [with] last week.

"I don't hold the players to task too much on the decisions they make, but the communication and attitude to cover for one another I think is what defines good defensive teams."

  3. 'We put our bodies on the line'published at 15:05 BST

    FT: Wakefield 22-26 Wigan

Wigan Warriors forward Junior Nsemba told BBC Sport:

"We had to put our bodies on the line. Wakefield attacked well but you have to put in everything that you've got.

"It was really tough. Obviously we didn't help ourselves at the beginning of the game defending for 15 minutes straight, but we had to find a way."

[On the semi-final against St Helens] "It'll be good to get them back. At their place last week it didn't go our way, so it'll be a very entertaining game to watch and hopefully we can get them back."

  4. 'We had to dig deep for the win'published at 15:00 BST

    FT: Wakefield 22-26 Wigan

Wigan's player of the match Patrick Mago told BBC Sport:

"We knew Wakey would be strong and would be on their A game, so it's good to get the win today.

"We dug deep and got the win. We always believe in ourselves and to come back from that, the boys knew that if we dug deep we'd come away with the win, and we did it well.

[On upcoming St Helens semi-final tie] "It was a tough game last week but I'm looking forward to it."

Surely this has won it for Wigan!

Cam Scott is at the corner for Wakefield and puts a hail mary high ball out which is stunningly collected by Junior Nsemba.

    Surely it's all over, now.

    My word.

Brad O'Neill take a bow. He outstretches his arm to collect a dangerous Wakefield offload.

Surely - SURELY - that would have resulted in a try.

It's not to be. At least right now, anyway.

Wigan stand firm and Wakefield run out of tackles about five metres from the line.

    Sublime defence.

Oof, no sooner do Wakefield get going but they get PAST halfway and earn another set restart.

They have all the momentum. Can they make it count? Surely Wigan aren't in for another nightmare finale after their Good Friday derby against Saints, right?

    Wakefield 22-26 Wigan

No try, 20-metre restart for Wakefield and a seven-tackle set.

That's the assessment after Junior Nsemba's ball-spilling dart to the line.

    Ooh er.

Liam Farrell should go over for Wigan but he's sublimely held up on the line by Wakefield.

    We're going upstairs again.

Corey Hall, a little bit of ball-watching, but the ball beats him.

TRY: Wakefield 22-26 Wiganpublished at 62 mins

    Zach Eckersley

    Two tries for Zach Eckersley!

He might be on the scoresheet but the plaudits have to go to Patrick Mago who puts in an absolute pearler of a pass to Adam Keighran, who swiftly diverts the ball into the path of Eckersley to do the easy bit and cross over for another Wigan score.

    Keighran MISSES the extras, however.

22 each after 56 minutes, you just need to keep a cool head and keep your discipline.

I think there's nothing in it. Get on with the game now. No-one's going to throw a punch.
