Hearts manager Derek McInnes tells BBC Sportsound: "Sabah Kerjota, it's perfect for him in a game like this when you know you're going to have a lot more of the ball because he is somebody who has got that guile, creativity, confidence in the final third.

"Blair Spittal playing as an auxiliary right-back. You're just trying everything to try and make this go your way. It took a bit longer than we thought.

"It's all about can someone come up with the big moment? Blair Spittal scores goals like that every day in training. He's got such good quality. A lot of people could snatch at it. He keeps his knee over the ball, stays calm, and it could be such an important goal.

"It's an advantage for Celtic and ourselves because we've won our games this weekend and Rangers didn't but there's another round of fixtures coming up so it can quickly change. Nothing gets decided today.

"A win in your first game [after the split] can give you confidence and impetus. The fact that we've beaten Rangers at Tynecastle already, we're unbeaten at home all season, we're confident with our work and what we do at Tynecastle.

"It's one win ticked off, it's one round of fixtures, it counts for nothing if we can't go and back it up now."

Hibs head coach David Gray tells Sky Sports: "To find ourselves down to nine men, the character the players showed, I can't ask for any more than that.

"It's just decision-making. The goalkeeper makes a mistake but it's cost us. The second one is a mistake, he catches the player so it's a yellow card.

"Full credit to the players that remained on the pitch, they defended their box incredibly. Bodies on the line, defending crosses. At the moment the players that remained on the pitch didn't deserve it [to lose] after what they put into the game."

Rangers head coach Danny Rohl tells BBC Sportsound: "It's tough when you are 2-0 down. You have to fight and you have to do a lot of things right and we did until we conceded the goal.

"Second half, we played a good game, then created a lot of chances. Finally, it was unlucky, we conceded one more goal and then it's tough to come back.

"I've been complimenting my players about the reaction, how much courage we put in, quality, intensity and it was good to see. Today, it's a little bit tough to take but we keep believing and this is the most important thing - four more finals.

"My job is to lift the group. I will stand in front and lead them and then we go again. We showed in the last couple of weeks and months how strong we are growing as a group.There will be no negativity from my side after one game. We have to go forward. I'm strong enough and it's not over.

"We will prepare [for Tynecastle]. We will be ready and we will show again a reaction and then we go again and then let's see which direction it goes."

Motherwell manager Jens Berthel Askou told BBC Sportsound: "The result, it's hard not to say that's very pleasing.

"We've been a few points short over the last five games in terms of how we've performed. Today, I think first half was right up there with us at the very best.

"Second half became a much more difficult half, both because Rangers stepped up and lifted their game and because we didn't have that same sharpness, especially in the final third.

"To stay cool and to still play our game when you have more than 50,000 [fans] trying to help push for the winner and to just be composed and do what we do and first of all defend with our lives, which we needed, and then to produce that final moment of quality to decide the game - really impressed with that."

Let's just catch up on what the managers had to say at Ibrox after Motherwell's thrilling victory.

Craig Halkett tells Sky Sports: "It was a massive three points. I think we started the game really well, conceded a slack goal and put ourselves up against it.

"I think we were a bit wasteful at the start, it took until half-time to come in and reset and then we got the goal back at the right time.

"Kerjota was brilliant. Everyone in there is so delighted for him. He trains really well and when he gets his chance he's shown everybody what he can do."

Player of the match Sabah Kerjota tells Sky Sports: "It's always unbelievable to play in these matches and to win them.

"We have four more games and we will do what we have to do to win every game."

With Hearts, I see a team that is all together.

Celtic visit Hibs next Sunday. Hearts host Rangers on the following day.

Can we just fast forward to the weekend?

Hearts head coach Derek McInnes tells Sky Sports: "It's such an unusual way to win a game.

"I'm disappointed with the first goal. We just switched off at the back post.

"It's a huge moment in the game when the goalkeeper gets sent off and the second red card helps us too. You need to credit Hibs, I thought the work-rate they put in was sensational.

"We were just looking for that calmness and somebody to step up and the captain (Lawrence Shankland) does that. That was the adrenaline shot.

"To win any derby you have to do a lot right. The game was a bit unusual but I thought we just about deserved to win."

Hearts had 23 shots today, the most from any of their games this season.

Shot number 23 from Blair Spittal proved decisive.

From a spectators' point of view, the red cards spoil it because it's no longer an even match, because it's one team attacking the other. Tough for the Hibs fans to watch.

You've got to feel for David Gray. They take the lead and things are looking OK and the goalkeeper goes and gets sent off. There's nothing you can do as a manager.

Passlack, he knows he's got a yellow card. Studs up - the referee's got no choice, second yellow card. You just feel for the remaining Hibs players that are on the pitch.

Hibs will get plaudits for a gutsy display, but both red cards were really stupid.

From experienced players too.

Raphael Sallinger must have lost his bearings to handle the ball outside his penalty area.

Felix Passlack's first booking was for squaring up to Stephen Kingsley, the second for a needless challenge on Beni Baningime when he was never going to get the ball.

Rangers to come a week on Monday. Hearts could put them out the title race at Tynecastle, where they're unbeaten this season.

It's a wonderful afternoon for Hearts. Tough going, tough, tough going. It's three magnificent points coming to your nearest rivals, who are trying to stop you. Make no mistake they were here to try to stop you and they didn't manage to do it.

It's a massive, massive win.

Blair Spittal tells Sky Sports: "The red cards helped the situation but at times we probably didn't make the most of it. We just needed to win this that was all that matters."

Lawrence Shankland tells Sky Sports: "It can be difficult when you play against a team who go down to 10. They defended their box really well, it was just a wee bit of patience to get the goal.

"We look after ourselves. Regardless [of results elsewhere] we wanted to come here and win we managed to do that.

"We worked so hard to get to this point it's important we try to finish it off. Another big game coming next week but we'll enjoy this first."
