Notbillionairesubbuteo: Let's throw everything at PSG and see what happens. Temporary reprieve for Slot but I don't see him taking this club forward. Let's hope he can secure a CL spot and have an amicable departure at the end of the season. Not a bad guy but ponderous and slow football with little pressing off the ball. Not how competitions are won and tedious to watch.

Liverpool boss Arne Slot, speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live: "Fulham has been a difficult opponent for us since I've been here. So we're happy with the win. This was a massive win not only for the league but looking forward to Tuesday, not only for the players but also for the fans. After a 4-0 loss and a 2-0 loss everybody could do with this win.
"One thing is clear is that on Tuesday we need our fans. There were fans in Paris but we had a very hard time. Anfield has shown many times that it can lift the team to another level, and we need that again. Half an hour before the game the players need that support and need to feel it is going to be another special evening."
On Mo Salah scoring: "It is important for Mo that he scored this goal, but it was mainly important for the team and the club that we won this game, and for Mo to score a finish that he has done so many times, inside foot, far corner. I'm happy he scored a vital goal for himself and the team.
"It's important for the team that we score goals. I saw a stat before the game that our last eight goals were score by eight different players.
"I don't think that is common for any club, let alone us. Usually you have one or two goalscorers that score goal after goal."

Fulham boss Marco Silva speaking to BBC MOTD: "Disappointing result - punished by the first half. The statistics of the game was balanced in terms of shots, chances, it was very balanced. We had chances that we didn't score. We were not ruthless enough.
"We were too passive in moments, for both goals. These type of moments made an impact and we were punished by our first half. We were not at the level we should. Second half we won many balls, more aggressive and closer to scoring goals, much better. We need to be consistent, not wait for them to score and wait for half time."

Liverpool boss Arne Slot, speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live about Rio Ngumoha's performance: "He made an important 1-0. In football goals are so crucial because many times it is a low scoring sport. You can be the dominant team, which we have been a lot of times this season, but we could not convert the chances into goals.
"Today Rio showed why I play him more and more and more, because he is getting stronger and stronger, fitter and fitter, and more and more ready to already play at this level at 17 years of age. He dominated his one v one situation, which is crucial, and that is why we went 1-0 up."

Image source, ReutersHate all the Cody hate. He was leading the press well in the first half, created a good shot out of nothing, and was strong in the lead up to Rio’s goal. He can be frustrating but he did good work today, especially in the first half.

Liverpool boss Arne Slot, speaking to BBC MOTD about the importance of the win: "Important - if you look at the league table important and also the FA Cup defeat to Man City and in Champions League to PSG. You want to see an improvement after a loss I think I got that maybe not in quality but in work rate."
On squad rotation: "It was needed. Our schedule, three games in six days and two of them are PSG - that's hard. Looking at it two days ago I felt tired looking at it so what that means for the players - the physical part and also what it means for the mental part after losing 4-0 and 2-0."
On Rio Ngumoha: "I have said before he's getting stronger, that will result in more playing time. He's getting more playing time and he showed today how important his quality is for us."
On Mohamed Salah's goal: "He's scored many of them like this. Mo is a top class finisher and we have to try and bring him in those positions as much as we can. Today he was there and he finished well, we had quite a comfortable lead at half time but nothing is done at half time so we had to fight for second half."
Big win in context of race for Champions League: "It is but we know it cannot be the last one. We need much more in the coming weeks and you can see every week how tough it is to get the wins over the line in the league. To have this win is important but we can't celebrate too much because we have another intense game coming up and a few days after that too."

Image source, Getty ImagesRio Ngumoha had no fear. He probably doesn’t listen to the noise when things aren’t going well, like some senior players probably do.
He really enjoyed this battle with Timothy Castagne. We saw it with Max Dowman and Everton. Young players just need a chance sometimes, they just need to be thrown into the deep end and see how they handle it. As long as they have got the quality and personality that Rio certainly has, they can really come of age. Some managers are scared to drop young players in.

Just before that I felt Fulham were having a good game so it was really helpful Rio had a one v one moment and scored a great goal.
" And afterwards Mo [Mohamed Salah] finished off well. Then you're quite comfortable at half-time.
"One of his [Rio's] strengths is dominating the one v one. We've seen this season he's getting more and more playing time. That's also what he deserves because when he plays he does really well. He's influencing the game like he did today and like he did against Wolves. Today he even scored which is vital in football because goals mean a lot.
"It's a better place than it was two or three days ago or a week ago. But it's also not that after we win all of a sudden everything is good again.
"We've played many games like this this season but they've not always led to a win. We've deserved to win, not by a big margin, but we deserved to win.
"I was really happy with a clean sheet. That's what you need in almost every game. Definitely we need that on Tuesday. It's a big step going into the week not only for PSG but also Everton at the end of the week. There are only two days of rest.
"The fans will be behind us and the players will give everything they have to turn things around. I can tell you we are up for it, we're ready for it, and Anfield will be ready for it."
On Curtis Jones' injury: "He felt a little bit, his groin. I would be surprised if a player comes off he will be available for Tuesday. I will say welcome to our season. After a win there's always an injury following it up."

I think you've got to be careful with him. You've got to drip feed him in as and when you can. However the one thing I would say is that his performances are better than Cody Gakpo's at the moment, so Liverpool fans are looking at that and thinking: 'he should be playing'.
The question now is who starts in the forward positions on Tuesday, particularly that left hand side? Will it be Ngumoha to start and then Gakpo comes on at a later point because he's earned his right to play today.

Noisy neighbour: Need to start Rio against PSG. Running at the defence, he could really unsettle them. And if Mo Salah on the other wing can do the same you never know we could be in for another memorable European night at Anfield. Better to go down fighting than not fight at all..

Liverpool are winless in their last three Premier League games against Fulham (D2 L1). Only once have they had a longer run without a league win against the Cottagers (4 games between 1966 and 1967).
