BBC Sport chief football writer at Azteca StadiumEveryone who witnessed the drama and spectacle of England’s World Cup win against Mexico is now catching their breath – and not because of the altitude.
Thomas Tuchel’s side went up to 7,000 feet to hit the greatest of heights with one of England’s finest victories on a night of raw emotion, winning 3-2 to set up a quarter-final against Norway in Miami.
Jude Bellingham will rightly claim the main plaudits for his two goals and a blockbuster display, along with goalkeeper Jordan Pickford, who gave the finest performance of his England career.
In truth, everyone played their part, especially after Jarell Quansah’s red card – including Tuchel, who got all the big calls right.
England supporters milling around the streets surrounding The Azteca were high on the elation of victory and on what they had just experienced in one of the world’s great sporting arenas.
The bandwagon now rolls on to the last eight against Norway, and the huge threat posed by Erling Haaland, whose two goals sent Brazil crashing out.
England must find a way to stop Haaland, but they know they have potent threats of their own in the shape of Bellingham and Harry Kane.
And having survived all that Mexico and The Azteca can throw at them, belief will now be surging through the England camp.

Tottenham announced Sandro Tonali's signing with a video narrated by England midfielder James Maddison, external.
He said: "It's going to be a nice feeling being on the receiving end of your passes, instead of your tackles."
And added: "Welcome to the Spurs family, it's a responsibility, it's a privilege and more than that it's an honour.
"This is yours now too."

If England are to go further into this tournament, captain Harry Kane will more than likely have a big hand in that.
He moved to six goals for this tournament - his 14th World Cup goal and also a sixth in the knockout stages.
This is only the third time an England player has scored six goals in a major tournament – the others are Gary Lineker in the 1986 World Cup and Kane himself at the 2018 World Cup.
Kane’s six World Cup penalty goals are two more than anyone else in history (excl. shoot-outs).

England have reached a third consecutive World Cup quarter-final and an 11th overall - only Brazil (15) and Germany (14) have reached more in the tournament’s history.
Previous manager Gareth Southgate led England to the quarter-finals at Qatar four years ago, when they lost 2-1 to France, and the semi-finals in Russia in 2018.
He also led them to consecutive finals at the European Championships.
The question is, can Thomas Tuchel take up the mantel and help his England side reach even greater heights?

When we lost Southgate as manager, I feared we would also lose the sense of fellowship and unity that he created, but it has gone from strength to strength under Tuchel. We are where we are now because of two great managers in a row.

It has to be said that the Mexico fans were not cheering when Harry Kane put 10-man England 3-1 up from the spot in the second half.
Thanks to Liverpool-born Andy Dugard for sharing this video with us.
The restaurant manager, who now lives in Florida, had the perfect view as the Three Lions captain slotted home his penalty.
Andy described his first ever World Cup match as "probably the greatest sporting event I’ll ever be at".

A lot changed at the Azteca overnight.
For one, England put three goals past a Mexican side that hadn't conceded a single goal at the 2026 World Cup.
In fact, Mexico last conceded three goals in a match at the Estadio Azteca in August 1999 (4-3 win vs Brazil).
They conceded more goals today (3) than in all their previous 10 World Cup matches at the Azteca combined (2).
