Jordan have a rare opportunity to get bodies forward after winning a free-kick but the delivery is poor.

The ball is too long and ends up behind for a goal kick. Very frustrating.

Algeria manager Vladimir Petkovic is trying to encourage his players from the touchline.

It feels like there's a bit of tension from both side at the moment.

Amine Gouiri does really well to glide across the edge of the Jordan box but his shot lacks purpose and is straight at goalkeeper Yazeed Abulaila.

A first shot on target for Algeria, though.

Off we go again after that hydration break.

Rayan Ait-Nouri is back on his feet and ready to continue for now.

Algeria are straight on the attack and have themselves a corner.

Rayan Ait-Nouri hits the deck again. It looked like he'd shaken off that injury from earlier but it's clearly still impacting him.

And the referee decides this is as good a time as any for a hydration break.

    A reminder that it's around 18 degrees!

At the other end, Ali Olwan has a go from range and it's a comfortable save for Luca Zidane.

    The goalkeeper smuggled it.

    I spoke too soon!

Riyad Mahrez has a golden opportunity to break the deadlock but just seems to get the ball caught under his feet when he's one-on-one with the goalkeeper.

Mahrez beat the offside trap and his first touch is brilliant but the second leaves a lot to be desired.

Game number 44 for me, this extended format is relentless but it's once every four years so I'll soldier on. Both teams will see this as a winnable game so should make for a good match. I thought they both did OK in their first matches for large spells.

Algeria have a little bit of concern for Rayan Ait-Nouri.

The Manchester City defender is the one attempting to make a challenge and there's no obvious contact that would lead to injury. It looks like Ait-Nouri may have just placed his foot down a little awkwardly.

He'll be OK to continue for now.

It feels like we've settled into the rhythm of this match now.

Algeria continue to dominate possession with a lot of lateral passing as Jordan are happy to sit in and play on the counter.

There were some concerns over attendances in the early games of the tournament with empty seats in the stadiums, but it looks pretty full if not completely full at Levi's Stadium for this one.

There's currently a Viking clap rippling around the stadium. The Norway effect is in full swing!
