    Paris St-Germain 0-1 Arsenal

We have a booking within a minute of the second half and it is in the direction of Arsenal right-back Cristhian Mosquera, for delaying the restart and taking too long to take a throw-in.

  2. 'PSG nullified by Arsenal'published at 18:11 BST

PSG have effectively been nullified by Arsenal's tactics. Arteta will have said he wants them to defend in the same manner, but they have to attack.

  3. KICK-OFFpublished at 18:10 BST

    Paris St-Germain 0-1 Arsenal

Arsenal are 45 minutes plus injury time away from becoming European champions for the first time. Defensive, they have been at the top of their game, with Gabriel producing an immense performance so far.

Can they keep doing it for the whole of the second half though or will PSG finally make their pressure and possession count?

    Let's find out.

Arsenal's 69 completed passes is the lowest on record (from 2003-04) by any side in the first half of a Champions League final. Indeed, every PSG outfield player completed at least 17 passes, while no Arsenal player completed more than 11.

    This will encourage Arsenal fans...

Arsenal have only lost one of the last 117 games across all competitions in which they have led at half-time (won 101, drawn 15), a 1-2 defeat to Bournemouth in the Premier League in May 2025.

Arsenal's defensive shape is superb and they are defending well everywhere. They are doubling up out wide and, every time there is the threat of a shot, the PSG player is put under pressure. If PSG have got into the Arsenal area, then there have been some significant tackles too.

From a former defender's point of view, Arsenal are incredibly well organised. It's not just their defenders who are defending well, it is their midfielders and attackers too.

They are all committed to the plan, every single one of them.

I think Arsenal have quite enjoyed displaying what they are good at. They have got it to half-time in relatively good shape. It is going to be fascinating.

This is a travesty of a final. Arsenal are approaching this like a non-league team going to the Emirates in the third round of the FA Cup.

    Richard, South Wales

Looks very much like it’s going to be defence v attack for the entire rest of the game as Arsenal park the bus.

    Robin, Coventry

How very Arsenal this season. Get an early goal and park the bus.

    Julien Laurens

From a PSG point of view, you need more urgency, less touches of the ball and more creativity.

Arsenal could probably defend for three hours like this.

Arsenal have had one shot on target, scored one goal and they lead at half time.

This situation suits the Gunners. They have the weapons off the bench to hurt PSG when they push as they game goes on too.

But surely, PSG can't be as poor in the second half? Gabriel has been a monster at the back for Arsenal.

  11. 'Having so little possession doesn't matter'published at 17:59 BST

    HT: Paris St-Germain 0-1 Arsenal

    Nedum Onuoha
Former Manchester City defender on MOTD: UEFA Champions League

With Arsenal 1-0 up, them having so little possession (23% in the first half) doesn't matter. Especially because it is not as if they are retreating further and further back into their own box. They are so well organised, and they are keeping their shape on the edge of their own area.

All this possession does is make PSG frustrated and try to force the issue a little bit too much, or take shots from distance, because while they had so much of the ball in that first half, what did they do with it?

As much as we all hate Arsenal’s style of play you have to admit this is the only way they stand a chance.

Arsenal doing exactly what they should be, controlling the game. Dominating and not letting PSG play. Great first half

  14. 'Arsenal have got the quality to punish them'published at 17:56 BST

    HT: Paris St-Germain 0-1 Arsenal

    Nedum Onuoha
Former Manchester City defender on MOTD: UEFA Champions League

That last Havertz chance justifies Arsenal's approach. They know they can still carry a threat on the break because PSG are not defending the same way they are.

PSG are seeing so much of the ball, but the longer Arsenal frustrate them, the more chance there is they will over-commit and leave space at the back. Arsenal have got the quality to punish them, too.

The Arsenal fans chant 'set piece again' as they get ready for a corner.

  17. HALF-TIMEpublished at 17:54 BST

    Paris St-Germain 0-1 Arsenal

Arsenal were set to take their first corner of the match, but they have taken too long to get it done and referee Daniel Siebert blows for half-time.

Nevertheless, it is the Gunners that lead at the break, following Kai Havertz's sixth-minute goal.

If Arsenal succeed in winning, they will do it by being the least worst team, not the best. This is so dull.

    James, London

A rather disappointing game so far. I wouldn't be happy with Arsenal taking home the trophy with such a lucky goal. PSG deserve something at least.

    Paris St-Germain 0-1 Arsenal

    Matt Upson

It is at Arsenal's tempo. If it stays like this, and they go in with this kind of feel, then what a first half this is.

A massive chance. I don't think Kai Havertz took the opportunity early enough.
