  1. KICK-OFFpublished at 1min

    Wales 0-0 Norway

Can Wales ignite their Nations League A campaign tonight and get that long-awaited victory?

    We're about to find out.

Norway get us under way in Cardiff.

  2. 'Norway becoming one of the best teams in the world'published at 19:44 BST

    Robert Earnshaw
Former Wales striker on Match of the day Wales

Norway are going through a brilliant period. They reached the World Cup quarter finals after not being at a tournament in a very long time.

They are now becoming one of the best teams in the world, they can compete and they've got a superstar up front.

  3. A high line to hamper Haaland?published at 19:43 BST

Craig Bellamy was fairly open when discussing how he planned to stop Erling Haaland on the eve of this game.

The Wales boss has stressed the need for his team to be much more compact tonight after their disappointing performance in Denmark, which means playing a high line in an attempt to restrict Haaland's impact.

Of course, he might have been saying one thing to the media and something different to his players in the analysis room.

It will be interesting to see Wales' approach - and whether they have any joy in trying to stifle a striker who usually finds a path to goal.

  4. 'I don't think you can stop Haaland'published at 19:42 BST

    Wales v Norway (19:45 BST)

    Nathan Blake
Former Wales striker on BBC Radio Wales

I don't think you can stop Erling Haaland. There have been some world class defenders who play at a much higher level than ours who have struggled to handle him.

The other thing is his athleticism, it's not just the fact that he's big and he can run, some of his goals like the overhead kicks. He's a phenomenon.

I don't think you stop him, you have to stop the source. Stop the balls into him and stop the cross, you need to work extra hard.

  5. Set-piece keypublished at 19:41 BST

    Wales v Norway (19:45 BST)

    Joe Ledley
Former Wales midfielder on Match of the Day Wales

A bad run is going to creep into the players minds, you're obviously low in confidence.

If you look at the Denmark game, set-pieces are key at any standard of the game and Norway are another strong, tall team.

There are lots of duels around the pitch that we need to work on and hopefully we get it right today with the home advantage.

  6. Koumas impressingpublished at 19:40 BST

    Wales v Norway (19:45 BST)

    Sam Vokes
Former Wales striker on BBC Radio Wales

Lewis Koumas worked his socks off against Portugal, and it was good to watch because I though it was a sturdy performance out there.

I'm looking forward to seeing him tonight and how we line up and take it to them.

  7. Postpublished at 19:39 BST

    Kath Morgan
Former Wales captain on BBC Radio Cymru

I'm worried about our two central defenders, Ben Cabango and Ben Davies.

I'm not sure whether they are going to be able to keep Norway's front line quiet this evening.

  8. Postpublished at 19:39 BST

Former Wales striker on BBC Radio Cymru

I was expecting four out of the five changes. I wasn't expecting to see Liam Cullen starting in the team when I made my way to the capital this morning.

Does that show the weakness that Craig Bellamy has in his squad at the moment? Especially on the attacking front.

  10. Bellamy entertains the media but now needs resultspublished at 19:36 BST

    Wales v Norway (19:45 BST)

    Mark Poyser
BBC Radio Wales commentator at Cardiff City Stadium

Wales head coach Craig Bellamy spoke for 36 minutes in his pre-match news conference yesterday and was in brilliant form.

The Norwegian journalists were so entertained they were happy to risk missing the start of Stale Solbakken's interview at the Cardiff City Stadium later in the day by ignoring calls from their taxis outside.

Bellamy does give the media excellent soundbites but the Welsh fans want results and how they dearly need one this evening as their winless run in 2026 now stretches to six games.

"You don't win and you lose a few games in a row, you should be asked questions," he said.

Those questions may come this evening as another loss would condemn Wales to a fourth straight defeat for the first time in 14 years.

Lewis Koumas wins his 15th Wales cap tonight.

Should the Liverpool forward score, he would follow in the footsteps of his father, Jason Koumas, in netting against Norway.

He scored twice in a 3-0 friendly win over the Norwegians at Wrexham's Racecourse Ground in February 2008.

Carl Fletcher netted the other goal for John Toshack's men on that occasion.

  12. Odegaard's presence adds to size of Wales' taskpublished at 19:34 BST

    Wales v Norway (19:45 BST)

    Gareth Vincent
BBC Sport Wales at Cardiff City Stadium

So, Martin Odegaard is fit to start despite talk that the Arsenal captain could miss out this evening after that challenge by Bernardo Silva the other night.

That means an even sterner test for Wales as they look to beat a side ranked higher than them by Fifa for the first time in the Craig Bellamy era.

If Wales can end their winless run tonight, it will be some effort given the quality in this Norwegian side.

  13. Norwegians are growing togetherpublished at 19:33 BST

    Wales v Norway (19:45 BST)

    Markus Fjortoft
Former defender on BBC Radio Wales

This is a national team that has been in development for a long time.

When we lost to Portugal the other day, that was our first home defeat since 2023.

This is a very talented crop of players, but a team in the full sense of the word.

The manager Stale Solbakken has built a really strong culture around Norway.

You can say a lot about Erling Haaland and Martin Odegaard, but they have been key in terms of being captains, leaders and role models, in terms of creating a camp and a team. I think that's what you're seeing now.

You can look to Wales and what you guys did in 2016 in terms of that group, as much as we have the talent, it's an extremely strong and tight group, which I think enabled us to go all the way to the quarter-finals of the World Cup.

The last time Wales played Norway was back in 2011.

It was a brilliant performance by Wales who won 4-1 at Cardiff City Stadium, with Craig Bellamy scoring one of the goals. Gareth Bale also found the back of the net, as did Sam Vokes twice.

But it turned out to be Gary Speed's final game in charge before his tragic death. Understandably Wales lost their way in the following months, before Chris Coleman turned things around.

Fifteen years later Wales could do with a similar performance and result against the same opposition.

  16. Questions being asked of Bellamypublished at 19:29 BST

    Wales v Norway (19:45 BST)

We mentioned earlier that there are questions being asked of head coach Craig Bellamy at present.

The man himself stated in his pre-match press conference that people are right to ask those questions.

"No, I don't see it [as] unfair. I see it [as being] as it should be," he said.

"You don't win and you lose a few games in a row, you should be asked questions.

"You'll get some people who maybe will see it and understand a bit, but I don't want anyone to understand. We should always demand and... I'm no different."

  17. 'Teams will be looking at Craig' - Collinspublished at 19:27 BST

    Wales v Norway (19:45 BST)

    James Collins
Former Wales defender on BBC Radio Wales

Knowing Craig well, it (Burnley situation) probably was a tough one for him.

He's a real football purist and he loves the job he's in and managing Wales.

He is young and I'm sure there are sights on being a club manager day-to-day and getting his teeth into a football club.

It was probably a tough one for him in the summer.

He wants to continue as Wales manager and continue the progress as a manager and as a team.

He's doing a great job, I love everything about him. I've heard from boys that his coaching style is absolutely incredible, very modern and up to date.

There will be teams looking at Craig, there's no doubt about it. But I know him as a man, he'll be fully focused on the job he's got in hand with Wales at the minute.

  18. Norway on a 'surge'published at 19:25 BST

There is no doubting that Norway are a side on the up, particularly on the back of reaching the quarter-finals of the World Cup.

Wales boss Craig Bellamy believes Stale Solbakken's side will be a force to be reckoned with for many years to come.

"They get to the quarter-finals in the World Cup and you're really on a surge at the present moment," said Bellamy when asked for his assessment by the Norwegian media.

"You've built it in your nation for a number of years, you have two clubs in the Champions League.

"This is a real surge now and I don't think it's going away.

"How rich your country is, it's really spending the money in certain areas and in sport, I expect you to be a force for a number of years."

It's been a pretty brutal year so far for Wales. Here's a rundown of the results so far:

    26 March - Wales 1-1 Bosnia & Herzegovina (lost 4-2 on penalties)

    31 March - Wales 1-1 Northern Ireland

    2 June - Wales 1-1 Ghana

    6 June - Romania 2-1 Wales

    24 September - Portugal 1-0 Wales

    27 September - Denmark 2-0 Wales

A reminder that Wales have not gone winless in a calendar year since 1989.

  20. Denmark showing 'didn't look like us'published at 19:20 BST

    Wales v Norway (19:45 BST)

Craig Bellamy pulled no punches in his assessment of Sunday's 2-0 loss to Denmark in Copenhagen.

On the night, the head coach admitted that the better team won.

Speaking on the Feast of Football podcast ahead of tonight's match, Bellamy went on to state that the performance in the Danish capital "didn't look like us".
