Heather Knight and Maia Bouchier resumed this morning looking to push on through the session.

Instead they were both dismissed in quick succession - here's how they fell.

    Thanks Elizabeth.

Amy Jones did quite a bit of work to get England past the follow-on total there, but her dismissal just before lunch has exposed the tail.

If India rattle through a few wickets after the interval then they'll secure a handy first-innings lead.

    Sciver-Brunt 39 (74), Villiers 5 (7)

Mady Villiers runs two to get off the mark in Test cricket.

Nat Sciver-Brunt dashes a single off the final ball before lunch.

England are 137-5, trailing India by 148 runs. A solid recovery from 47-4.

  9. Not out - Eng 131-5published at 38.3 overs

Missing leg stump. By a whole stump or two. Another couple of minutes eaten up before lunch.

  10. India reviewpublished at 38.3 overs

Deepti Sharma returns to the attack and goes absolutely wild for an lbw against Nat Sciver-Brunt. The umpire says no. Harmanpreet Kaur is quickly convinced to go upstairs.

  11. Eng 131-5published at 38 overs

There's a brief delay as another helmet is brought on. Jemimah Rodrigues slots in at silly point, with Richa Ghosh mirroring her at short leg.

Mady Villiers, on her Test debut, blocks two deliveries back to bowler Sneh Rana.

Jones will be annoyed with that. It was a very simple catch. A lovely partnership but the pressure was on England. It was really well batted from Amy Jones.

    Jones c Ghosh b Rana 52 (Eng 131-5)

Richa Ghosh is rewarded for her bruising stint at short leg, gobbling up an inside edge from Amy Jones.

Sneh Rana has broken England's fifth-wicket partnership. Jones departs for 52 (62).

  14. Eng 130-4published at 37 overs

Nat Sciver-Brunt's booming six is followed by a single as England move ever closer to avoiding the follow-on we briefly panicked about earlier.

They trail India by 155 runs.

  15. 6 runs

    Eng 129-4published at 36.4 overs

Nat Sciver-Brunt gets down on one knee and clears the deep mid-wicket boundary. That came out of nowhere.

Into the final 15 minutes before lunch.

India captain Harmanpreet Kaur is beaming as she jogs into position at the changeover. Maybe she's having a lovely day, maybe she's enjoying the 123-4 scoreline as much as I am.

Jones has brought it up in quick time. There have been a few moments of madness but she has been very switched on.

50 for Amy Jonespublished at 35.3 overs

    Eng 122-4

Amy Jones squeezes the ball through third and jogs three to bring up her second Test half-century in 59 balls.

  19. Eng 118-4published at 35 overs

Ohhhh that was a dicey shot from Amy Jones, just about getting it up and over Harmanpreet Kaur at mid-on. She had a look of resignation as she watched its trajectory.

    She moves onto 49.

  20. Eng 116-4published at 34 overs

A single apiece for Nat Sciver-Brunt and Amy Jones off Sneh Rana's seventh over.
