John Humphrys in conversation with successful people who have weathered storms in their careers.
This week
Tuesday 15th April
As a leading cancer specialist, Andrew Baker (pictured) does one of surgery’s most demanding jobs; but he’s not working now. He’s out of a job and nearly out of money – the victim of a set of circumstances that could have come straight from the pages of a Kafka novel. He was falsely accused of blackmail, then possessing cocaine and cannabis; he’s innocent but the court case brought him down.
John Humphrys talks to him for this week's On The Ropes, broadcast just after the Radio 4 news at nine o’clock in the morning and again at half-past nine in the evening. You can hear it any time until next week's programme is broadcast by using the "listen again" button on this page.
