Jaime Winstone is an actress known for roles across television, film and theatre, and most recently for stepping into one of Albert Square’s most iconic roles as a young Peggy Mitchell in EastEnders.

The daughter of actor Ray Winstone, Jaime made her film debut in Bullet Boy before landing her breakthrough role as Becky in 2006 film Kidulthood. She went on to star as Kelly in the BAFTA-nominated horror series Dead Set, as well as appearing in productions including Five Daughters, Made in Dagenham and Love, Rosie.

In 2017, Jaime took on the role of Barbara Windsor in BBC biopic "Babs", even spending time with Barbara herself while preparing for the part. Five years later, she was cast as the younger version of Barbara’s legendary EastEnders character Peggy Mitchell for a special flashback episode. Jaime returned to the role during the soap’s 40th anniversary celebrations in 2025, appearing as Peggy in hallucinations experienced by Phil Mitchell. The episode went on to win Best Single Episode at the British Soap Awards.

Away from the screen, Jaime has appeared on the West End stage in 2:22 A Ghost Story and even took to the stage disguised as Firework on The Masked Singer. She’s also a lifelong West Ham supporter and has fond memories of going to matches with her dad.

Now Jaime is ready for a very different kind of performance. She describes herself as a raver and a “secret Strictly showgirl” and has already been making mood boards ahead of her ballroom transformation. Surprisingly, it’s the Waltz that has caught her attention most, precisely because she feels it couldn’t be further from her personality. Her 93-year-old nan is also thrilled that she’s taking part - so Jaime is ready to get fully “Strictlified”!
