Lacey Turner

Lacey Turner is one of British soap’s most celebrated actresses, best known for her long-running role as Stacey Slater in EastEnders, which has earned her an incredible 40 awards, including four National Television Awards.

Born in Edgware and raised in Hertfordshire, Lacey grew up within sight of the EastEnders set and remembers watching the lights and hearing filming from her bedroom. Inspired to become an actress, she took dance, singing and acting classes before landing the role of "Stacey Slater" in 2004, aged just 16.

Over more than two decades, Stacey has become one of Albert Square’s most iconic characters, with Lacey receiving widespread acclaim for tackling some of the soap’s biggest storylines. Her performances have earned her four National Television Awards, eight British Soap Awards and eight Inside Soap Awards.

During a break from EastEnders, Lacey took on roles in dramas including Being Human, True Love, Bedlam and Switch. She also originated the lead role of army medic "Molly Dawes" in BBC drama Our Girl, starring in both the original film and its first series.

Away from acting, Lacey hosts the podcast We Started Here and will release her debut memoir, Gold Dust, in October 2026. When she’s not on screen, she loves furniture, upholstery and spending time at her allotment. Now she’s swapping Albert Square for the Strictly ballroom - and the dance she’s most looking forward to getting to grips with is the Tango!
