As we reported earlier, temperatures of 35C are expected, after the country set its hottest day on record on Wednesday with 35.3C (96F) recorded in Gogerddan, which lies about three miles northeast of Aberystwyth.

With the atmosphere currently unstable, conditions could set off severe thunderstorms locally. These could bring sudden downpours, lightning, and a risk of hailstones and gusty winds.
