All the content and services on BBC Languages, including those where you can sign up or subscribe, are free to use by individuals and educational institutions and are part of the BBC's public service funded by the UK licence fee.

At the end of some of our courses you have the option to take a test and check how much you've learnt. You can then print out a 'Certificate of Completion' with your final score. Although the courses follow an academic plan that can be matched to official courses, this certificate is not an official academic accreditation.

Some language programmes are repeated once a year on BBC Two's Learning Zone, overnight, during May. Whole series are broadcast as blocks designed for recording and viewing later. We publish details nearer the time on our homepages as well as in our newsletter.
Please note that no language programmes are broadcast on the BBC's international channels.
If you're a tutor or a teacher, please refer to the next two questions.
BBC Active, a commercial subsidiary of the BBC, publishes a limited number of programmes on DVD, currently Talk Spanish, Talk French, Excuse my French and, for children, French is Fun! With Serge, the Cheeky Monkey. You can buy these from a variety of online and high-street retailers.
All other language programmes on BBC Two Learning Zone and on our website are not available for purchase. This is due to copyright and contractual agreements that cover broadcasting only and don't allow distribution on DVD or as download.
If you're a teacher or a tutor, please refer to the next question.
You are welcome to use any of our online resource, which are free of charge. Please observe the BBC's terms of use.
If you're in the UK and your institution holds an ERA licence you can borrow back copies of programmes for classroom use from the video library service provided by Richmond College. This service is not affiliated with the BBC and all enquiries should be sent directly to them.
We also have a section of our site dedicated to teaching. Please also refer to the previous two questions.
We are a small team and opportunities for jobs with us only come up very occasionally. These are published on the BBC Jobs website. It also offers information about work experience placements via the links on the left-hand side of their homepage.
Occasionally, we also work with freelancers. If you think you have specific skills or experience that may be of interest to us, please outline this in a short paragraph in the section below, 'I'd like to send a comment'. Due to limited resources, we'll only be able to reply if we require your services.
Please check the language-specific FAQs on the right-hand side of this page. If you still can't find the answer, please fill in your details below being as specific and descriptive as possible, including section name and web address of the page in question if you're experiencing a problem.
We will only use your details to contact you and will not pass them on to anyone else.
